And I Paint It
Henriette Wyeth’s World

A young Henriette Wyeth paints the countryside as she sees it in this poetic picture book inspired by a famous family of American artists.

Henriette’s father is N.C. Wyeth, the famous artist, who encourages her to paint what she sees. Together, they sneak away from their big, busy family to paint in the wild landscape: A lily, bright and white as a star; the green growing into the cap of a strawberry; the blue in the sky running pink. With guidance from her father and the beauty of the natural world, Henriette is free awaken into her dreams.
