Eye Contact

Be a dispassionate observer from a safe distance or meet and interact with intriguing people you don’t know, face to face? That’s the question this book will encourage you to answer. By demonstrating the possibilities of interacting with people who catch your attention, then using your camera as a tool to engage them on a deeper level, the possibility of coming away with an authentic, evocative photograph emerges. The reader is sure to find that it’s a marvelous way to broaden your creative and cultural horizons— plus, they’ll have a photograph as a permanent reminder of that connection! What do other professionals have to say about the book’s theme? You’ll find 20 personal statements from an eclectic mix of professionals (photographers, sociologists, writers, a producer, and an anthropologist) who were kind enough to share their takes on various aspects of meeting and photographing people when they travel or in their own city or locale.
